Future Carbon

This is the Spanish brands first road bike but we can honestly say it was well worth the wait. After years of developing cutting edge carbon manufacturing techniques to develop their line of high tech mountain bikes, the progressive Barcelona based brand is now offering a top tier road machine. Rightly named Elysium - a conceptual place dedicated to the afterlife of the heralded Gods of the time. Advanced features and cutting edge manufacturing is well ahead of the standard norm in carbon technology.

In the sea of plain ol' carbon, we continually see the big manufacturers and open molders offering road bikes - Top tier, mid-tier, low tier, sportive - You know like spreading your peanut butter real thin - you just can't taste it anymore.

Instead of following the path of offering bikes to the lowest common denominator, MSC put the jam and peanut butter on one slice of bread. One single model to rule the road, its light, exceptionally stiff and possesses some of the best handling traits of any road bike on the market. Utilising different chain stay lengths for each frame size allows the perfect weight bias - It's a more expensive process and none of the big brands bother with it as it cuts into their marketing budgets. It balances the rider’s weight for power transmission, comfort and superb handling.

Engineering "suppleness" or comfort into the frame was not just about creating flexion tubes in areas or sticking children's play dough into the seat stays but rather developing new resins and load oriented layups for high frequency vibration reduction. Unlike the others producing carbon many are not lucky enough to have an Aerospace Composites research lab on tap. MSC has been working with AMADE over the past five years in their development of carbon structures with excessive use of their own developed high fidelity composite sensors. This tech can feedback data so detailed that the engineers can "see" which single strand of carbon is being stressed as the bike is being pushed through its paces. Layup optimisation is now not just some marketing blurb.

Details that go unnoticed on the inside of the frame really help build up this God like ride. Internal downtube ribbing prevents twisting when standing and sprinting while the ultra-thin stays aid in the reduction of road buzz in the rear end of the bike. The asymmetric seat tube join to the reinforced PF30 bottom bracket for maximising the BB- Chain Stay structure. At the front a 1.5" lower head tube and balanced fork produce razor sharp steering - it's stiff but does not jar or throw you off mid-apex when the terrain is harsh. Out of the saddle climbing, sprinting and cornering the Elysium rides the fine line of perfect balances of stiffness and comfort.

Sportive, gran fondo, huh? This is an all-out road bike - Long and low, outrageously efficient on all types of terrain and race conditions - sportive and fondos(if you must) included.
