Smooth and reliable
Unlike other external bottom bracket systems the SRAM GXP system captures the non-drive side bearing allowing it to float on the spindle itself rather than pre-loading and essentially sideloading the bearing which increases friction and reduces bearing life. With the GXP system, there is no guessing with how much preload is needed - it sits right every time. 8 seals all round reduce dirt contaimation and a new sealing system SRAM calls "gutter seal" reduces friction by up to 35%. Stainless steel bearings can be serviced by simply removing the seals, no special tools required.
