The XG-1088 is similar to the XX cassette in aesthetics and shift performance but due to a modified construction process it is cheaper than the XX offering. Each cog is made and then rivetted together in a way that resembles an XX level cassette, this method of construction does not utilise a spider to piece the cassette together. With a weight of 245g as opposed to 185g weight of the XX cassette makes this a very good option for the weight weenies.
Recommended cassette if you are using the Monster Sprocket 42t system, the CrMo rings on the XG1080 last a long time and still one of the lightest.
