Flat pedals need lots of grip and a large platform. Everything else you claim is a bit fluffy. The Beskar hits the mark. A concave design to caress the shoe and eight stainless steel pins per side - Their research has shown that less pins will actually create more grip overall. Think about lying on a bed of nails or just a few - ouch - Less is more as they say.
Pedals take a beating, they can never be kept new and think about how much load is being put into the bearing system especially when you take a rock strike, most manufacturers are using a hybrid bushing and single bearing, they are going to blow up soon - just takes a couple of hard hits They probably already have that's why the spin rough as. The Beskar uses a unique floating bearing system that dissipates the force of hard pedal strikes far better than anything else available.
Like all Newmen components, there is not so much fluff going on - nice clean CNC'd finish and titanium axles which offers a smooth for deflecting strikes and brings the weight to a super competitive 295g / pair
They can be easily serviced at home - usually just a top of grease
