These are the latest version of the 410/402 innerbarends. While they still maintain the ergonomic shape, the 410 innerbarend is now fully compatible with "normal grips" and the SQlab compatible grips - like the 710 and 702 grips. Included is a internal adapter that allows the innerbarend to be mounted directly on the handlebar and removed if you are installing on a compatible grip.
An ideal solution for taking the strain and tension off your stabiliser muscles. The Innerbarend has a lot of "platform" for resting your hands and even getting up and out of the saddle for sharp climbs. By externally rotating your shoulders it does place more of the load on the larger muscle groups on your back (which is what you want) and they still also allow access to the brake levers.
They have a nice comfy feel while cruising and even promoting a more aero position while taking up little space on your bars - which make it work well for marathon and XC racing
The fiber reinforced plastic is lightweight and handles bumps and scuffs well while not freezing your hands off if you are riding in cold conditions.
