Coil is where it's at if you want the best small bump sensitivity, trail tracking and set and forget setup. There is a reason no ones makes special aftermarket upgrades for coil sprung forks - they just work out of the box.
The new Mark II Coil gets some minor revisions that make this fork just a bit better than the previous. The Mark I was a very firm and positive feeling fork that really opened up at speed and under aggressive riders - Let's be honest its not race day every single ride. Cane Creek has lightened the damping giving it more sensitivity at lower speeds and suppleness for lighter riders but still maintaining a large range of adjustments and best of all, it also feels better the harder you push it.
There are definitely lighter air-sprung forks out there, but if you a here you might be coil-curious or you have tried a friends fork and been blown away. If you put performance over weight and don't mind having to try a few springs to get your setup right initially - its well worth it in the long run.
