Engineered comfort and loads of style
Designed for strong riders, but having dialed compliancy in the rear stays and fork to increase traction over harsh terrain. The Zephyr shares the same DNA as the rest of the NEILPRYDE lineup with the C6.7 carbon fibre and OTP Comfort technology. The Zephyr combines all the stiffness suitable for the most powerful sprinters but has some high-tech features that keep you in the saddle longer.
Compared to the rest of the NEILPRYDE lineup the Zephyr features a slightly taller head tube for those riders that cannot get into that oh-so-pro deep drop. The benefits of a taller head tube allows you to run less spacers which reduces steerer flex and more importantly gives good clean lines with a -17 stem.
The Zephyr is definitely not soft, stand on the pedals and the bike boosts hard with race-car like performance, keep applying torque through harsh council neglected roads and you can forget about the rear wheel skip that you commonly get with most ultra light stiff bikes. The cantilevered dropouts extend the wheelbase slightly which increase the Zephyr's stability through long fast corners it also aids in the buttery smooth ride.
The Zephyr uses the PF30 standard which joins to big deep section chainstays which provides direct power transmission to the rear wheel. The rear seat stays are pencil thin and integrate elegantly into the seatube for the ultimate vibration killing performance. The seat stays themselves use the NEILPRYDE C6.7 carbon with variable carbon fibre thickness which allow them to flex in a vertical direction.
