Chrome Warm Vest "All Conditions" Vest - Review
From the American apparel brand founded in San Francisco and built upon rugged, hard wearing urban cycle wear. The new Warm Series vest is a perfect addition to your wardrobe and can easily be used all year round - and not just for biking!
Aimed at the commuter or urban cyclist who doesn't want to commute in a full spandex suit. Whether you are commuting to work or just shooting around town to handle some errands - the Chrome Warm Vest might be for you.
A lightweight and packable vest that is reversible - one side has diamond quilting and the other has more reflective details, so it can really double up as a casual and riding vest. Depending on which way its worn, it has 2 front stash pockets and a rear zip pocket. It's made of a abrasion resistant Ripstop nylon that will keep the water out from light to medium rain and cuts the wind completly. Synthetic Polyfil insulation is warm when wet, lightweight and reduces envionmental destruction when compared to down.
How was it?
It has become one of the most go to pieces of clothing for the year. Rain, windy and cold - there is always a place for a quality vest. The diamond quilting has a warm and luxurious feeling and the ability to switch the vest inside out is really cool. It handles wind and light rain well, has a nice slim fit and plenty of pockets for keys and eWares. It looks half decent and can be worn casually without too much attention.
Overall quality is excellent, functionality is superb with just enough pockets and reflective trim and striping without it looking ridiculous. You can wear it with out looking like a hubbard.
They are offered in two colorways - an all black inside out version and a black / orange hi-vis which will work if you commute in traffic a lot.
Drawbacks
It is a little on the pricier side, but once you see how many uses and how many times you actually end up using the vest the price quickly vanishes.
