A complete redesign that offers the sensitivity and traction of a coil shock but with the tuneable support of and air spring. It's what you could call the best of both worlds. Some bikes work great with a coil and some don't - the ones that don't usually have low levels of progression built into the kinematics - usually as a result of being tuned for the progressive nature of an airspring.
The Tigon offers a unique approach to tuning in progressivity with the Ramp Tube. Simply by adding air to the Ramp tube you can increase progression up 25-30% and by working on the mid-stroke and bottom out you are not taking away that sensitive, traction inducing coil feel.
The Tigon also gets a lot more lateral strength - which is completely needed for bikes that have clevis type linkages that load, bind and stress seals and shafts in the shock. The Tigon damper shaft is centered in the shock and combined with the placement of the Ramp tube significantly increases lateral strength. Now you can run a Tigon on your clevis equipped bike.
