Its knurled tread gives great traction in the wet and even better in the dry with the special 62a compound rubber which provides ample grip in all conditions which makes this a great value training tyre. It is the most puncture proof tire of the Maxxis line but it does not omit a harsh ride. Maxxis has implemented its Silkworm and K2 technology to help reduce and minimise punctures while still enabling a tire with good feeling qualities. Silkworm wraps the casing from bead to bead increase resistance to puncture and tears while the K2 fabric provides more puncture protection than Kelvar and Vectran. K2 is lightweight and very supple which aids to a lively feel of the Refuse.
